Full Arch Dental Implants in Huntsville, AL
Wearing dentures can feel like sitting in a folding chair: unstable and awkward. You’re careful with every movement, always aware it could shift beneath you. It gets the job done, but you never fully relax. Full arch dental implants are more like your favorite armchair. They’re stable, supportive, and completely customized to your preferences.
With dental implants, your smile not only looks better, but it also feels secure and finally gives you the peace of mind you deserve. No slipping, no second-guessing, just comfort and confidence that lasts all day.
What Are Full Arch Dental Implants?
Full arch dental implants are a permanent solution for replacing an entire set of upper or lower teeth. While traditional dentures sit on the gums, full arch implant restorations attach to dental implants that we place in the jawbone. Over time, the implants fuse with the bone, becoming a permanent part of your oral structure.
The series of implants acts as artificial tooth roots, providing a strong foundation for a custom-made dental bridge or denture. The result is a stable set of teeth that looks as good as it functions.
Many people prefer full arch dental implants over traditional dentures because of their many benefits:
- More secure fit: Implant-supported restorations are anchored into the jawbone, so they won’t slip or shift while you talk or eat.
- Adhesive-free stability: There’s no need for messy creams or adhesives to keep your teeth in place.
- Stronger bite: Implants restore more of your natural chewing power, so you can enjoy a wider variety of foods.
- Better jawbone health: Because implants mimic tooth roots, they stimulate the jawbone when you eat. This stimulation helps prevent bone loss and facial collapse (something traditional dentures can’t do).
- Improved comfort: An implant-stabilized denture stays firmly in place, eliminating the friction and shifting that can cause irritation and sore spots.
- Longer-lasting results: While conventional dentures need to be relined or replaced every so often, implant-supported options are more durable and can last longer.
- More natural look and feel: Full arch implant denture systems look and feel more like natural teeth. And knowing that your teeth look great and suit you perfectly can boost your confidence and quality of life.
Since full arch dental implants offer greater comfort, stability, and long-term benefits than regular dentures, we often recommend them to our patients who are missing a full set of teeth.
Traditional Dental Implants vs. Mini Dental Implants
At Smile Center of Huntsville, Dr. Battle offers both traditional and mini dental implants to secure implant dentures. While both options provide stable, long-lasting tooth replacement, they have some key differences.
Traditional dental implants are larger in diameter and require more bone to support them. This often means a longer healing period and, in some cases, the need for bone grafting if the bone isn’t strong enough. Because traditional implants have two distinct pieces (the implant body and the abutment), they’re usually placed in a two-stage process. After Dr. Battle places the implant bodies, you’ll need to heal for several months before she can attach your final custom denture.
While a reliable option, many people aren’t good candidates for conventional implants.
Mini dental implants, on the other hand, are smaller, one-piece implants that don’t typically require bone grafting. Because they’re about half the size of traditional implants, they’re ideal for patients with less bone density. The placement procedure is less invasive, and in many cases, Dr. Battle can complete it in a single visit. Their simpler design, streamlined process, and reduced treatment time also make mini implants a more affordable and accessible option for many patients.
Dr. Battle, a diplomate of the International Academy of Mini Dental Implants (IAMDI), is highly experienced in both techniques and can help you determine which type is best for your smile goals and oral health.
Full Arch Dental Implant Options
There are various types of full arch solutions that differ in the materials used, the number and type of implants required, and their removability.
Snap-In Dentures
Snap-in dentures are a removable option that securely attaches to at least 4 mini dental implants or 2 traditional implants. Made from acrylic, these dentures “snap” into place using rubber O-rings, offering much more stability than conventional dentures. You can remove them daily for cleaning, but they won’t slip or move around.
While they use the same material as conventional dentures, we can eliminate much of the bulk since the denture doesn’t rely on suction to stay secure. For an upper denture, in particular, we can remove the plate that covers the upper palate. This upgraded design allows you to fully taste your meals and experience hot and cold sensations.
Semi-Removable Roundhouse Bridge
For patients who want a more permanent solution that doesn’t need to be removed daily, two popular options are Fix-on-Six® and All-on-4®.
Fix-on-Six uses 6-10 mini dental implants to support a zirconia roundhouse bridge. This bridge is semi-removable, meaning only Dr. Battle can take it out during routine visits for cleaning. It stays in place at all other times, providing a secure, natural feel with significantly improved chewing strength.
All-on-4 relies on 4-6 traditional dental implants to anchor the full arch restoration. Like Fix-on-Six, the restoration is only removed by Dr. Battle.
Non-Removable Roundhouse Bridge
This is the most permanent full arch solution. For this option, we place 10-12 mini dental implants to anchor a zirconia roundhouse bridge. We then cement the bridge to the implants for unparalleled security. Unlike other options, this bridge is never meant to be removed. As a result, it offers the closest experience to having your natural teeth back.

Frequently Asked Questions
Dental insurance may not cover the full cost of dental implants, but many plans cover a portion of the treatment. Every plan is a little different, so it’s best to take a look at what your policy covers. Having worked with insurance companies for many years, our experienced team can help you maximize your benefits.
To make managing out-of-pocket expenses easier, we also offer flexible financing options. These plans allow you to get the smile you deserve without unnecessary stress.
We know the idea of dental surgery can sound intimidating, but your comfort is one of our main priorities. At the start of your procedure, we’ll numb your mouth to keep you comfortable. We also offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral conscious sedation to help you feel calm and relaxed. These sedation options are particularly helpful for patients undergoing more complicated procedures.
Afterward, you may experience some tenderness, but it’s usually very manageable with over-the-counter medication. Our goal is to make sure you’re comfortable throughout the process, so you can relax knowing you’re in good hands.
The dental implants themselves are designed to be permanent fixtures in your mouth. With good oral care and regular checkups, they can last a lifetime. The restorations they support, like dentures or roundhouse bridges, may eventually need to be replaced or adjusted due to normal wear, but the implants stay put. Think of them as your new foundation, built to give you a confident smile for years to come.
