Can You Convert My Denture to an Implant Denture?
In this video, Dr. Tracie Battle explains how certain existing dentures can be adapted to work with implants for better stability and confidence.
Existing dentures can often be converted into implant-supported dentures. These are commonly known as snap-in dentures or overdentures.
A snap-in denture works much like the snaps or buttons on clothing. Small attachments in the denture connect directly to the implants, allowing the denture to lock securely into place. Inside the denture are special housings, often called O-rings, that snap onto the implants and secure everything.
This design lets you remove the denture easily for cleaning, then snap it back in place. Once secured, the denture stays stable while you eat and speak, instead of shifting or moving like traditional dentures.
